White Project

Exploring the idea of Paper town. “A paper town is a fake town created   by map makers created to protect their copyright,” says John Green. “Map makers put fake streets, fake towns, and fake bridges in their maps, so if they see those same fake places on someone else’s map, they’ll know that they’ve been robbed,” he explains. The idea of Paper dolls becomes a technique on how I would like to illustrate the idea of copyright as a form of visual, as it has the effect of latching onto a base.

Features:

Construction details – The shape of the pattern is reference from all the basic patterns of top and bottom to represent the idea of a ‘base’. Then it is layered with all the same pattern as ‘copy, copy’ effect on top another.

Fastening details – Created a Velcro folding tabs to hold the whole construction together.
