Detail Project
The detail I chose was the crease on trousers. With that, I was interested in looking at the period when women started wearing man’s trousers and tapering them to a woman’s shape. This started out around the 1920s/1930s. Therefore, I referenced images that are from that period of time, in terms of the shape, structure and look. My aim was to recreate a detail that represents the transition of a man’s trousers into a woman’s trousers. By that, I experimented with way of subtracting and reducing extra space, like folding, pleating and cut away & reattach.
